Dear Diary: Friday, July 10, 2009

July 10, 2009

Another Friday is here…and in a few hours, we’ll be on the road to our Pennsylvania home.  We’ll get to see two of our favorites – Charles Havira and Billy Rogan – playing in Downtown Scranton tonight…and may even stick around to see Mat Burke and Joe Lynott at Blues Street.  While we’re there, we’ll be stopping in to see our good friend and staunch supporter, Maureen Duffy of Duffy Accessories, who is also our “connection” for the Scrantastic t-shirts that we share with our musicians and road crews.  Good music and good people = good life.  How lucky are we?!

We’ll be meeting Tamara Murray, the Executive Director of the Wayne County Arts Alliance, on Sunday evening to look at a venue.  Fingers and toes crossed that it will be another place to showcase the many musicians that we believe need to be heard.  From what Tamara tells us, this little venue is another of NEPA’s hidden gems.  We’ll know soon enough, we guess.

Lastly – and best, save the date:  March 20, 2010.  Not only is it the first day of Spring, it’s the day that we will be proudly hosting a personal favorite:  Joe Crookston.  If you’ve heard of him, you know what we mean.  If you haven’t seen him yet, this will be an awesome opportunity to see PocoNotes in action.  We only – ever – put on great shows…with great musicians and even better audiences!

Have another great day, and we’ll talk again next week – when more will be revealed.
